Re: [802SEC] Announcement - Emerging Applications Birds-of-a-Feather, IEEE 802 July 2014 Plenary

All,

I agree with Pat regarding allowing the speaker(s) to be able to see how we work and chat with folks attending our meeting, gee, maybe even with some of us.

Best regards,

Mike

We probably want to enable someone coming in for this purpose to be around during the day to see how we work and chat with people during breaks.

Also, this is replacing the social but isn’t a social. We aren’t intending to have guest tickets for it.

Pat-

A fee waiver shouldn't be necessary unless the invited speaker wants to look in on any of our standards development meetings.

A mere "Guest Ticket" to the "Social" should do it.

Dear Colleagues,

We want to reach out broadly for significant emerging applications areas. Some people involved in these areas may not be current IEEE 802 participants. Please encourage submissions regardless of whether the speaker is active in IEEE 802.

If the speaker for an accepted topic doesn’t normally attend IEEE 802, we plan to treat them as an invited speaker and request a fee waiver for the speaker.

Regards,

Pat
