Re: [802SEC] IEEE IETF privacy experiments PR

Hello all,

In the second para: “Experimental testing driven by IEEE 802® Privacy Executive Committee Study Group addresses unauthorized tracking of Wi-Fi® users

I think we should use the term “802.11”  in preference to “Wi-Fi”.   We are,  after all,  IEEE 802.
The body of the press release does reference “802.11, also known as WiFi”,   which is IMHO appropriate.

Best Regards,

Subject: [802SEC] IEEE IETF privacy experiments PR

Dear EC members,

After carrying out the privacy experiments at the past IEEE and IETF meetings, the idea of issuing a press release came about.

I’m pre-circulating the current draft of the press release in order to receive comments from the EC before formally approving the text. This is the latest version:

https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/15/ec-15-0036-00-00EC-ieee-ietf-privacy-experiments-pr.docx

Please let me know if you have any comments.

Best regards,

Juan Carlos Zuniga

(IEEE 802 EC Privacy SG chair)
