IEEE P1809 MEETING
HELP SHAPE THE ELECTRIC SOURCED TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE GUIDE

Dear IEEE Society Member,

The IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) is launching a groundbreaking electric sourced transportation infrastructure initiative for the power engineering and transportation industries with the creation of The IEEE Standard 1809 Guide for Electric-Sourced Transportation Infrastructure.

You are invited to attend the first meeting, which is being hosted by the EPRI through a web based teleconference on February 18, 2010.

The IEEE-SA P1809 guide will provide a knowledge base for understanding and defining the electric grid infrastructure requirements to support various forms of electric sourced transportation. It will include both vehicle and mass transit, which is necessary to determine the future grid infrastructure requirements that have to be implemented in phases in the near future. The P1809 project is being sponsored by the IEEE-SA Standards Coordinating Committee 40 (SCC40).  Any individual interested in shaping the P1809 transportation grid infrastructure guide is welcomed to attend.
