Announcing a new Topic of the Month within the Virtual Learning Space
(VLS) http://itlearningspace-scot.ac.uk
The 'Facilitating Online Discussions' topic is open for discussion now.
A series of synchronous and asynchronous discussions will be run as part
of this topic.
Proceedings start on the 15 January with Janet MacDonald of the Open
University hosting a chat session between 12.30 and 1.30 pm (GMT) in the
Schoolhill room within the VLS café. We advise participants to enter the
chat room slightly earlier, 12.00-12.15 pm (GMT), to ensure their
computers are correctly configured to be able to load our chat software.
As an introduction to this topic, VLS members may like to look at the
introductory message and document posted by Janet into the 'Facilitating
Online Discussions' room. The membership is growing and we look forward
to an interesting debate throughout the next few weeks.
* Janet MacDonald is a freelance writer and researcher with the Open
University and has over ten years experience teaching online and
moderating national conferences.
