Semi-Annual IEEE IMS TC Report
Chairman: Michael J. Stora, System Interconnect Technologies, General Manager
The objectives of the Committee are to:
1. Reestablish a staff to support TC-8, under a formal organization, membership, purpose, goals and policies (IEEE policies + and unique issues guiding TC-8).
2. Review VXI std 1155 with VXI Consortium to revise and reaffirm
3. Build relationship with PXI Consortium in hopes of establishing PAR for PXI std
4. Build relationship with LXI Consortium in hopes of establishing PAR for LXI std
5. Transfer current PAR 1552 SATS development from primary sponsorship by SCC20 to I&M (currently co-sponsor).
6. Enhance and develop working group committees that will conduct the development work necessary to complete projects timely.
7. Establish collaboration meetings of the groups four times a year, working with IEEE chapters and IEEE/I&M events such as Autotestcon to provide space for meetings.
Since my assignment to the TC-8 Committee the following professional activities have occurred:
1. Met with PXI Consortium to discuss implementing the PXI Specification under a new IEEE PAR. Consortium is reviewing our proposal and is expected to respond back in the coming weeks.
2. To formulate a leadership for the group several individuals have been contacted, and new organizational chart is being established, along with appropriate operational procedures to assist in managing the group.
This is a limited report due to recent assignment. A more comprehensive report will be filed at the beginning of the year to reflect progress being made.
