P1232 Ad Hoc Working Group

Discussion began by reviewing the results of the discussion from the last week.

Discussion then proceeded to considering definitions in the EDIM (since it was decided the DIM would be proposed for deletion). Some questions are:

• Should we permit both disjuncts and conjuncts off of a single outcomeInference?

• Should we retain the posNeg attribute (inferenceType)?

• Should associatedTestOutcome be unique, or should we permit multiple “rules” with the same left hand side?

• If we allow multiple rules, what is the semantic interpretation of those rules (and? or?)? Actually, this question is already before us and needs to be clarified.

• Should associatedTestOutcome be a single associated outcome or a set of outcomes?

• If we have a set of outcomes, what is the semantic interpretation of that set (and? or?)?

We need to clarify how the model can be used to construct the appropriate inference relationships. It is unclear what that will look like or who will provide the clarification.

We received word that Michelle has received company support and, as a result, accepted the position as 1232 working group chair and Alicia will provide backup. Thanks Michelle!!
