IEEE STANDARDS COORDINATING COMMITTEE 20
06-C MEETING
Anaheim, CA

06-C Agenda

Friday, September 22, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 0906.

The agenda was approved.

The report was given in Steering and the Plenary. There was nothing to add.

Minutes were revised and approved as revised. Action items and open issues were reviewed.

No report from AES.

CS Report: CS SAB will be meeting November 1 in San Diego. A presentation will be made on how SCC20 will be posting schemata on the website. In addition, a discussion on block voting was presented based on the issues with the 802.20 Broadband Wireless working group.

No report from I&M.

No presentations.

John Ralph joined the meeting via telecon. The ballot invitation is out. An email was sent to the ATML/TII group letting them know about the ballot invitation. The invitation has been extended to 45 days rather than the usual 30 days. The ballot invitation closes October 30. MEC will provide another set of comments between the close of the ballot invitation and before commencing the ballot.

There are some editorial comments from MEC. The comments are more related to format than content. All changes are in, and the new template has been used. This will be very helpful when publishing.

The model changes were reviewed with particular attention given to why the hierarchical element is being eliminated/re-done.

The definitions for the Common Element Model are proceeding well. They will be presented to the group following completion of the work by the ad hoc working group.

Lockheed-Martin has taken the March model and created WSDL services for that model. Obviously, these services will change when the model changes. The service definitions are being updated as the model updates; they are being worked in parallel.

Pat Kalgren presented a paper at AUTOTESTCON on information requirements for prognostics with the hope this would be used to help develop the prognostics annex. A lexicon for PHM exists. It would be nice if we could use it. Unfortunately, people don't agree on what the definitions of PHM mean. Pat will provide his paper as a log item to be used for extracting an initial set of definitions for the annex.

Darryl, Tim, and John still need to work on this. Nothing to report here.

A rough version of the SIMICA information model was presented.

One of the questions raised was whether or not to use the 1232 DCM for diagnostic session information. Alicia noted that they save out the DCM information and believe the information is sufficient for capturing this type of information for use in SIMICA.

There is also a question about whether there are elements in the DCM that should be separated out (or replicated) in a SIMICA schema to represent the diagnostic session data that needs to be archived/stored but would not carry with it a large amount of additional information specified by AI-ESTATE.

The requirements document is under development and needs to be approved by the subcommittee prior to sending to Admin. Mukund was confirmed as the chair of the MAI working group.

Talked to SMEs to develop use cases. These led to modification of the schema. Some instance XML documents against the schema to validate the use cases. This led to some modifications to the schema.

The MAI requirements document was reviewed and revised. A motion and second were made to approve the revised requirements document. It was approved without opposition and will be submitted to Admin for review.

The schema was reviewed.

Roadmap was updated.

The next meeting will be in Orlando in January.

The meeting adjourned at 1702.
