You may have noticed a new web site appear in the IEEE/TII area http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/scc20/tii/
As well as the notional links there is an http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/scc20/tii/ATML/ that is almost a copy of the Groove workspace.
What we're trying to do here is be more inclusive to those ATML followers who either do not use Groove or just want to follow at a distance. The idea is to maintain a copy (reasonably up to date) of the ATML projects on the web site, while allowing the upto the minute sharing of files that Groove provides.
There are a few advantages
1) All the archive non changing stuff can be versioned off and archived - this will save space in groove, and allow the space to remain more relevent. We can reference the archive through url links
2) we may be able to put a CVS server on the web server to help configuration control files. under investigation.
We have set up a few examples from our current areas
2004 has is a link to the 2004/CANDIDATE-01 area on the web
Minutes old old minutes have been archived but latest have been kept on Groove
Schemas http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/scc20/tii/ATML/Schemas/ & Working groups http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/scc20/tii/ATML/Working%20Groups/ have been shadowed onto the web site
Realy we're looking for comments back as to what the team need.
While doing this exercise a couple of we came up with a couple of issues
1) Could all the Archive areas be offloaded to the web only
2) Should most of the schemas in 1-Draft be archives - we appera to be doing most schema development in the Working Groups area , should we move 1-Drafts to there relevent Working Groups and Archive them as necessary
3) Is scratch area needed
4) which areas should be private on the Web - (password protected)
