Hello Chris,
I was recently reviewing one of the National Instruments week presentations on ATML, got into a discussion with NI developers from whom I got your contact info and was curious to find out more about an issue (maybe?) with XML. I was told that indexing data stored in XML format is slow for large files and that the WWW web consortium has developed a RDF format that addresses this problem.
Unfortunately I'm not an expert in this area and all I could come up with is an article on Google's search contrasting XML and RDF, http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2001/01/24/rdf.html?page=1 and http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2000/08/30/instantrdf/ I was wondering if the ATML.org consortium thinks this a weak spot of XML and whether RDF is a viable solution?
My organization is going though a Test Standardization effort and Test Data Management is one of our concerns. We want to make sure that our data is accessible by commercial software packages and is in a industry approved format.
Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Pavan
