Called to order at 0830 on 23 March 1998.
Ken Brooke called the meeting to order and reported that Dr. Karna
was unable to attend.
Appproval of Minutes:
The minutes for the 30 Sep 97 meeting were posted since Oct 97 for
members to review. No corrections have been received.

Approval of Agenda:
The agenda
was loosely followed, with some rearrangement of presentation times made
to suit the presentors' schedules.
Committee Reports:
New Business:
The agenda as published was loosely followed, preserving the intent
to spend most of the time discussing the consultants' findings regarding
data elements.
Our hosts, the California Highway Patrol, gave us a tour of their remarkable
communications center which was much appreciated by the group.
Sadler Bridges/TTI was unable to attend and tell us about the ALERT
project due to project budget cuts, however he will attempt to meet with
us in San Antonio in June.
Bruce Churchill gave a presentation on InterCAD, and Baron Grey made
a presentation on FIRST to the group. Some
additional information regarding Ca CHP 11 Codes
and the Ca Vehicle Code has been uploaded to
the web page to aid in interpreting some of the CAD screens in Dr. Grey's
presentation.
One architectural scope issue was settled by the group, in that the
Emergency Management Subsystem was defined to encompass the public safety
answering point, incorporating the call-taking function.
The next meeting will be held at the TransGuide Building, San Antonio, TX, on 18 and 19 June, 1998. For the group's information, the Data Dictionary/Message Set Template Working Group will attempt to meet at the same location on 16 and 17 June. Dr. Karna is recovering from his surgery and is planning to attend.
Technical Material:
The data element analysis material presented and discussed, including
the various spreadsheets, is located in the IMWG private directory, in
the jl-sd directory.
Look for the following files, however be aware that the source material
for the analysis work was undergoing change as the various data dictionaries
submitted updated lists of data elements.
