SCC36 Standards Coordinating Committee on UCA / IEC 61850 Communications
The IEEE SCC36, established by the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA),
reviews, recommends, solicits, and sponsors the development of standards
relevant to the gas, water, and electric utility industries on a worldwide
basis with respect to utility communication architecture. This SCC
coordinates standards-development activities with other relevant IEEE
groups and sponsors standards-development activities that are appropriate
to the needs of the utility industry.
Scope/Purpose
IEEE Standards Coordinating Committee 36 (SCC36)
SCC36 oversees the review and development of standards related to the
Utility Communication Architecture. IEEE SCC36 reviews all proposed IEEE
standards for utility communications before their submission to the IEEE-SA
Standards Board for approval and coordinates submission to other
organizations.
