IEEE Surge Protective Devices Forum

Introduction
The IEEE Surge Protective Devices Forum is one of the IEEE Online Communities. Using your IEEE Web Account User Name and Password you can join Surge Protective Devices Forum. The password-protected Forum is a companion tool to the STDS-SPD Listserv Broadcast Mailer and this open IEEE-SA SPDC Grouper site. The Forum provides user interaction and the ability to post content.

The Forum is used for document development; reporting Working Group process, discussions, archiving and knowledge sharing. There are two levels of access; public and private. The private areas are only visible to authorized SPDC members. These private areas contain sensitive information like full draft standards.

How to Join the Surge Protective Devices Forum
Browse to the SPD Forum Welcome Login Web page at URL

A three-button screen similar to the following should appear.

Click the Welcome page Login button, enter your IEEE Web Account User Name and Password at the next screen and click the Login button on that screen .

The IEEE Terms of Service screen then appears, if you agree with the IEEE Terms of Service, click the I Agree button. This will cause the Welcome page to reappear, this time with only two buttons; Join and Preview. Click the Join button. The preferences page appears, allowing you to set your Activity notification update periods and how much of your personal information is available to the Community. After setting your preferences, click the Join button at the page bottom. The next page confirms your membership and asks you to click the Enter the community phrase. Having done so, the SPD Forum What’s New page appears.

On future visits, after clicking the Login button on the Welcome page, entering your User name and Password and clicking the Login button, you will be taken straight to the SPD Forum What’s New page.
