I agree that openness is essential.  The current discussion about time and
causality shows how many serious questions were involved in just one axiom
(the PSL Axiom 2 of a totally ordered time).

When I think about the million axioms of Cyc, I shudder to think about the
number and size of the issues that are still hidden in proprietary code.
