SUO WG Members,
It has become evident to me that the particular parliamentary
process, namely R2O2, that we find ourselves saddled with
at present, is not a problem-solving method so much as
a problem-creating and solution-delaying method.
I realize that there are all sorts of reasons
why some people will continue to force us all
to go through the motions of that, but I would
like to suggest that some of the rest of us form
a gentleperson's agreement to return to the brands
of critically reflective problem-solving methods and
techniques that I feel sure we all picked up somewhere
along the way in our formal and our practical educations.
I would like the work that we do here to be something that
I can look back on in my old age -- a couple of years from
now the way things are going -- and be genuinely proud of.
I see nothing but futility and failure ahead if we do not
begin to adopt some standards of quality for ourselves.
Yours Truly,
Jon Awbrey
