SUO: Status of the SUMO

SUO WG,

At long last the chair has recognized that the SUMO vote in August of 2001 failed.

Jim Schoening wrote (02/24/02):
and now agree that the action of the BoG changed the state
from 'Passed' to 'Failed.'
Jim also recognized that the failure of the vote means that the SUMO is not a starter document and has no status within the SUO WG except as one of several "Expert Contributions by working group members" .  
 On the SUO web site, we'll move the SUMO link from 'Starter Document' to 'Expert Contributions.'
The SUO WG web site  http://suo.ieee.org/  states regarding expert contributions  "These documents are the work of the authors and not approved or otherwise endorsed by this working group. "
