RE: SUO: Using Upper Ontologies For Model Integration

To: John De Oliveira, Adam, Matthew, Eric, and John Bateman
Thanks for your helpful replies to my inquiry and offers for further help.
I am looking into the suggestions that were provided.

To: Fred
I am uncertain about using ontologies for the problem I have at hand. To
acquire this certainty, I need to understand my own problem space better and
learn more about the currently available solution space. Re. your question
about other standardized models, I know we have at least one legacy data
model to incorporate/reuse. There will probably be a few additional models
involved but I don't know what they are yet. I am going to the DMTF
conference in San Jose (California, USA) the week after next and I hope to
learn more about how CIM has been integrated with other data/info models.

Best Regards To All,
Bill

I am also interested in information models like DMTF/CIM, and
I certainly hope this ongoing SUO work can be helpful in mapping
and reuse. I must say that at the moment I am not sure how.

What other standardized models are you looking to work with?
