I don't think that the world doesn't need an ontology,
it's just that we haven't seen a successful application
of ontologies (ie. we can't say that an important application
could not function without an ontology at its core).

Unfortunately, at least for me, sponsors are unwilling to
fund an ontological project unless I could show some
successful application of ontologies.
