IEEE Working Group on System Impacts and Interconnection Requirements of Wind and Solar Power Plants

Scope: 
  • Serve as a focal point within the Power and Energy Society (PES) for addressing issues related to the system impacts of and interconnection requirements for wind and solar plants, including application of the existing IEEE 1547 series of standards, issues not specifically addressed in those standards, impacts on distribution, transmission, and bulk transmission systems, and interconnection requirements taking into account requirements of ISOs, RTOs, FERC, NERC, and transmission providers.
  • Conduct activities to promote the sharing of knowledge and experience among diverse organizations working on similar issues through the conduct of studies, symposia, workshops, paper sessions, panel sessions, and tutorials.
  • Publish working group papers to document results of working group activities and to share working group positions on issues related to system impacts of and interconnection requirements for wind and solar plants.
