IEEE Working Group on Voltage Quality

Mission Statement

The Voltage Quality Working Group (VQWG) addresses issues regarding the quality of voltage supplied
to the customers equipment from the electric power system.

Scope

Specifically, the VQWG maintains and updates the IEEE 1250 Guide.  It is also a forum for thoughtful
discussion and action about voltage level, fluctuation, sags (dips), swells, conducted noise, and
anything else that adversely affects the quality of supplied voltage.  The  "Voltage Fluctuation and
Light Flicker" (IEEE 1451) and "Voltage Sag Indices" (IEEE 1564) task forces report to the Voltage
Quality Working Group.
