SUBJECT: MEETING #4 OF IEEE G-2.1.6 VIDEO COMPRESSION MEASUREMENTS SUBCOMMITTEE
The next meeting of IEEE G-2.1.6 Subcommittee will be Monday, May 5th, 1997, at the Department of Commerce, National Telecommunications and Information Administration, Institute for Telecommunications Sciences, NTIA/ITS.N3, Room 1107, 325 Broadway, Boulder, Colorado 80303-3328. The meeting will be from 8AM until approximately 12 Noon.
After lunch the meeting of G-2.1.4, Video Distribution Measurements Subcommittee will take place from 1PM to 5PM, and you are invited to attend.
There will be a meeting of the Task Force on Compression Measurement Methodologies on Sunday, May 4th from 1PM to 5PM, also at NTIA in Room 1107. You may attend this meeting if you wish, even if you did not sign up for this Task Force, but please advise me of your intention to attend.
The meetings have been made to be adjacent to the meetings of ATIS T1A1.5 committee because of common interest in compression measurements. This will permit their members to attend our meetings and our members to attend their meetings.
The meetings of ATIS Subcommittee T1A1.5 and its various working groups will be from Monday, May 5th to Friday, May 9th, and the schedule for these meetings is attached. The relevant work in the T1A1.5 Subcommittee is in the Ad Hoc Group on Broadcast Coding and Performance Requirements.
The Draft Agenda for the G-2.1.6 meeting is attached.
The Minutes of the 3rd meeting of the Subcommittee on January 20th, 1997 will be available in a couple of days. It is hoped that these will also be available shortly on the Web at http://stdsbbs.ieee.org/groups/videocomp/ .
Will those who have not already done so, please let me know as soon as possible if you do or do not plan to attend the meeting. Please try to attend these meetings. There is important work to be accomplished.
