To: Members and Potential Members of IEEE G-2.1.6
From: Alan S. Godber, Interim Chairman of IEEE G-2.1.6.
| SUBJECT: | MEETING #8 OF IEEE G-2.1.6 VIDEO COMPRESSION |
| MEASUREMENTS SUBCOMMITTEE |
Further to the second Meeting Announcement and Draft Agenda, distributed on March 3rd, I am now attaching a revised Draft Agenda to reflect the addition of a further speaker at our meeting next Monday, March 16th, 1998. Dr. Andrew B. Watson, Senior Scientist for Vision Research, at NASA Ames Research Center, will give us the benefit of his expertise in Vision Research and Video Compression.
I have also rearranged the Report of the Task Force on "Defining A Unit of Measure & a Means of Calibration for Video Impairment", Chaired by Leon Stanger to follow both Dr. Van den Branden and Dr. Watson, as I believe the discussion will then flow better.
The Revised Draft Agenda for the G-2.1.6 meeting is attached.
The Draft Minutes of the 7th meeting of the Subcommittee on January 26th, 1998 are now available on the IEEE Web site, courtesy of our hard-working Secretary, Doug Lung, as are several other documents contributed at the January meeting.
Documents for G-2.1.6 can be found on the Web at www.ieee.org. Then select "Standards", "Working Group Areas", "Video Compression (Digital ) Measurement Standards (P1486)".
Looking forward to a good attendance at the meeting, which should be very stimulating. Hoping to see you in Boulder.
