Agenda:

- review Bruce Kaufman's TRC file

Discussion:

Nothing under discussion or presentation for this meeting was identified as being proprietary or restricted.

Support for dot3

The group discussed the lack of attention and support that this project is getting. Although there is general agreement that this standard is important, the attendance at the working group meetings is minimal.

We decided to raise this issue at the next STILUsers meeting (dec 15) and see if: a) there is agreement at that forum as to the need to complete this effort, and b) there any other that can be persuaded to participate.

Review of Bruce's TRC

1. PatternCharacteristics -> Base < (<Hex | Dec>)+  | None>; We decided to add the keyword None to explicitly state that this feature is not supported.

2. PatternCharacteristics -> DeltaChangeVectors < Yes | No >; We decided that delta change is such a basic part of the STIL language that is should always be supported. This statement should be removed from this standard.

3. PatternCharacteristics  -> AllowedWhen ... This statement is intended to reference vector addresses, but we have no way to indicate that. Should be define a new symbol? $VA? asterisk? The statement would be something like:

    Allowed When $VA%2;

4. PatternCharacteristics  -> VectorCount - We discussed the relation between VectorCount and MaxVectors. We decided that MaxVectors should represent the maximum STIL vectors. i.e., if VectorCount PerVectorMemory 3; ... then the max stil vectors is 3X the number of vector memory locations.

5. SignalCharacteristics -> PeriodCharacteristics, WaveformCharacteristics, WaveformDescriptions, DCResourceCharacteristics - We decided that the statement all should move to the SystemCharacteristics block under the Module statement (see next point).

6. SystemCharacteristics -> NumberModules - We decided to change this as follows:

    Module (MODULE_NAME) {

        (MaxModules integer; )

        (SignalCharacteristics ...)

        (PeriodCharacteristics ...)

        (WaveformCharacteristics ...)

        (WaveformDescriptions ...)

        (DCResourceCharacteristics ...)

    }

7. WaveformDescriptions ... Explicit - There was confusion about what the attribute "Explicit" means. Aren't all waveforms explicit? The answer, I (Tony) thinks is that it is possible to define partial waveform rules and not define the exact shape of the waveform. Tony will attempt to provide examples and a better explanation.

8. WaveformDescriptions - In addition to In Out InOut, add the other signal types - i.e., Data, Clock, Scan ... (as per SignalChar). Need to add Greg's descriptions to the doc for each of these types.

9. WaveformCharacteristics -> ReplicateSubWaveforms - We decided to remove this statement.

10. There were many other details of Bruce's TRC that were unnecessary or incorrect. Bruce is going to make the adjustment and provide a new TRC file.

11. Dan is going to make needed adjustment to the Credence TRC file and provide an update for discussion at the next meeting.
