OK. But there are several kinds of square in Unicode. For instance:

http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U25A0.pdf
25A0;BLACK SQUARE;So;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;
25A1;WHITE SQUARE;So;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;
25AA;BLACK SMALL SQUARE;So;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;
25AB;WHITE SMALL SQUARE;So;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;
25FB;WHITE MEDIUM SQUARE;Sm;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;
25FC;BLACK MEDIUM SQUARE;Sm;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;
25FD;WHITE MEDIUM SMALL SQUARE;Sm;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;
25FE;BLACK MEDIUM SMALL SQUARE;Sm;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;

http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U2B00.pdf
2B1B;BLACK LARGE SQUARE;So;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;
2B1C;WHITE LARGE SQUARE;So;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;
2B1D;BLACK VERY SMALL SQUARE;So;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;
2B1E;WHITE VERY SMALL SQUARE;So;0;ON;;;;;N;;;;;

Indeed. If we end up with some recommendation in the standard
for the symbols, we may need to decide on one of these.
Probably we can do that later in the process with a separate
proposal, once the draft converges a bit more in terms of
functionality?
