[IEEE 1788] Motion P1788/M003.01_Set_of_reals three week formal discussion begins
P1788 members:
Since I have received a second from Michel Hack, the three
week formal*** discussion period begins. At this time, arguments
for and against may be posted, and amendments (friendly and
otherwise) will be accepted.
This discussion period will end on April 6, after which there
will be a three-week formal voting period. Amendments will
not be accepted during the voting period, but reasons accompanying
any "no" votes (i.e. amendments that would change a "no" vote
to a "yes" vote) will be strongly encouraged.
For convenience, I append the motion.
Sincerely,
Ralph Baker Kearfott
Acting chair, IEEE P-1788

===Motion text===
The P1788 Interval arithmetic standard defines intervals as closed and connected sets of real numbers.
That means that ± Infinity may be used to denote an unbounded interval but are never considered as members of an interval.
===Rationale===
