Subject: [IEEE P1788] Reminder: voting period for motion 2 underway
P1788 members:
We are roughly halfway through the formal voting period
for motion 2 (appended), and I have not seen votes
posted. Since we encourage public posting of votes,
I am assuming that people have not voted.
The formal voting period for Motion 2 ends
on March 28. If we do not receive a quorum, this will
prevent the working group from conducting business and
completing the standards document. I therefore urge people
to post votes.
It will help if the subject line of the vote is:
Motion P1788/M0002.01_ProcessStructure [insert YES or NO here]
and if the body contains any explanation (as appropriate)
of what would be done to change a "no" vote to "yes."
I further suggest that, since we are presently processing
two items of formal business (discussion of motion 3 and
voting on motion 2) on stds-1788, that we remain on-topic
on this email reflector, without too many distractions.
Sincerely,
Ralph Baker Kearfott
Acting chair, P-1788
===Motion P1788/M0002.01_ProcessStructure===
Proposer: John Pryce
Seconder: required
===Motion text===
The P1788 Working Group adopts the principles set out in
sections 1 and 2 of Position Paper PP008, "A proposed structure
for the process of constructing the P1788 standard".
===Rationale===
For a rationale, please read Section 1 of the position paper.
The paper is available on the P1788 web site.
Note that this is a vote on principles, NOT on the detail in the
following section 3 and appendix. P1788 members may see various
defects of commission or omission in those, and are asked to
point them out, as a separate issue from this motion.
