FW: Parallel Processing and Applied Mathematics, Wroclaw, Poland
Dear Friends, As you may remember, at a standards meeting at SCAN'08, we
agreed to meet at this meeting (whoever can) and continue our
discussions in person.
The organizers kindly agreed to have an interval minisymposium, so we
can combine an interval minisymposium with the standards meeting. (This
may not be the cheapest venue to get for the US folks, but it should be
much easier for Europeans.)
Many thanks for those who have already submitted their paper. The
deadline has been extended to April 30.
Vladik

THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS
PPAM 2009
EIGHTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
PARALLEL PROCESSING AND APPLIED MATHEMATICS
Wroclaw, Poland,
September 13-16, 2009
http://ppam.pl
The PPAM 2009 conference, eighth in a series, will cover topics in
parallel
and distributed processing, including theory and applications, as well
as
applied mathematics. The focus will be on models, algorithms, and
software
tools which facilitate efficient and convenient utilization of modern
parallel and distributed computing architectures, as well as on
large-scale applications.
PPAM is a biennial conference started in 1994, with the proceedings
published in Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Sciences. This year
the conference will take place in Wroclaw, the thousand-year old city
conveniently located in southwestern Poland, rival of Moscow and
Shanghai in the bid to host the EXPO 2010 world exhibition, the
third largest academic centre in Poland.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited) to:
- Parallel/distributed and grid architectures, enabling technologies
- Cloud computing
- Multi-core and many-core parallel computing
- Cluster computing
- Parallel/distributed algorithms
- Scheduling, mapping, load balancing
- Performance analysis and prediction
- Parallel/distributed/grid programming
- Tools and environments for parallel/distributed computing
- Security and dependability in parallel/distributed environments
- HPC numerical linear algebra
- Methods of solving differential equations
- Evolutionary computing, meta-heuristics and neural networks
- Interval analysis
- Computer methods in mechanics, material processing, biology and
medicine, physics, chemistry, business, environmental modeling, etc.
- Applications of parallel/distributed computing
- Methods and tools for parallel solution of large-scale problems
