Re: Holiday extension for Motion 8...?

Yes. The only question is if it is correct to extend the voting
after we have obtained a quorum. The only practical impact on this
particular vote would be if most of the late votes were "no." Certainly,
let's extend voting at least until a quorum has been reached.

George: Please use your judgment to extend it at least until Monday,
and we'll see what happens then. Your work "above and
beyond the call of duty" in contacting individual members
who have not yet voted is greatly appreciated. (Please inform
me if that task becomes to burdensome.)

Best regards,

Baker

Baker,

At the moment, the tally is
   Yes - 26; No - 3; Needed for quorum - 36

Based on experience with previous motions, we are likely to
get at least 5 more votes in the next two days, even if the
whole US is a stuffed turkey.

Our Policies and Procedures permit soliciting of votes after
the announced expiration of voting for the purpose of obtaining
a quorum (only), so I thin Dan's suggestion is within our P&P.

Ralph,

Given that this week is spent in preparation for
& recovery from Thanksgiving in this country, may
I suggest an extension on the voting deadline for
motion 8 until next Friday, 12/4?

I'd hate for this motion to lose a quorum just
because people are thousands of miles away from
their computers this week.

Yours,

Dan
