"The function exp(x^2) erfc(x) should be amongst the optional functions.
It appears frequently in statistical calculations. In single-precision
IEEE 754 arithmetic, erfc(x) underflows for x > ~9, while exp(x)
overflows at about the same value. exp(x^2) erfc(x) is asymptotic to
1/(x \sqrt\pi) so it doesn't overflow, and it doesn't underflow until x
> huge(x)/\sqrt\pi."
