Motion P1788/M0021.01:IntervalOverlapping -- status change?

P-1788,

Discussion on Motion 21 was to end formally on September 24.
(The delay in disposition of this motion was due to a number of
us attending SCAN 2010, including me and the proposer of this
motion.)

I note that this motion is closely related to Motion 13.04 and
Motion 20. In processing these "position paper" motions, we
should keep in mind which of these provide the best guidance
to our technical editor, John Pryce, since the purpose of
all of these motions is to guide him in crafting the actual
standard (upon which we will vote, part by part, later).

Juergen, Nate: Should we enter the voting period for Motion 21
at this point? I will await your reply. (It was suggested
at SCAN 2010 that I solicit this green light from the proposers
before beginning the vote, to allow for final amendment and
avoid certain confusion that has happened in the past.)

Best regards,

Baker

P.S. I'd like to thank Nathalie Revol and the local organizing
committee of SCAN 2010 for the excellent conference
arrangements and smooth execution. Nathalie, whom we
have elected chair, has stated that she can be more active
in P-1788 now that SCAN 2010 is over.
