Subject: (OOPS) Motion P1788/0019.01: Explicit/Implicit idatatypes -- VOTING PERIOD ALSO BEGINS
P1788 members:
I correct myself: Motion 19's discussion period has run out, and Motion 19 is
also related to Motion 23. I therefore wish to (belatedly) begin
the voting period on BOTH today. Therefore, you may ease the Voting Tabulator's
task by voting on both simultaneously.
Note: My own view is that Motion 19 and Motion 23, although related, are
not mutually exclusive, so each of the votes (YES, YES), (YES, NO), (NO, YES), and (NO, NO)
makes sense. In particular, according to my interpretation, an implicit
data type may be a mid-rad data type, but there may be other implicit data types
other than mid-rad, and mid-rad need not be mentioned in the definition of
an implicit data type. Please refer to the version of the motion posted at
http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/1788/private/Motions/implicitformatsV5.pdf
Comments received up to September 22 have been incorporated into that version.
The voting will continue until after Sunday, October 31, 2010, or
until such time as the Voting Tabulator deems is appropriate.
Juergen: Please place the motion and associated information
in the appropriate place on the web page.
Guillaume: Please record the transaction in the minutes.
Best regards,
Baker (acting as chair, P-1788)
