The danger of (dropping) num2interval

Nobody is prohibiting this -- we just don't want to REQUIRE it.

What we should do however is add a note explicitly warning about the
implications of hiding nums2interval(x,x) behind a macro or unofficial
function.  This can then be discussed when we vote on the actual text.
