RE: Motion on interval flavors
In my opinion, a standard should include mostly what we all agree on.
With respect to different flavors of intervals, if we can agree on some of these flavors, we can add them to the standard -- maybe without requiring them to be implemented but requiring that IF they are implemented then this implementation should follow our guidelines.
What is most important, whether we agree or not, is that we should define our standard in such a way that we do not incidentally make it unnecessarily difficult to add flavors.
