I don't think so. The intent of flavors is to do things in one way
instead of another, not to mix the two ways. Now, there will always
be programs (e.g. interface programs, or certain common utilities)
that may wish to manipulate objects of different flavors -- but the
burden of keeping track of which is which belongs in that program,
and does not need the standard's assistance.
Exchange format labelling is a different story, but it covers a wider
range than just interval flavors, so needs to be addressed separately,
and in my opinion is beyond this standard (as it was considered to be
beyond IEEE 754). The COBOL standard is one place where this has been
addressed, and even that one is incomplete.
