Re: Motion 37, Kaucher Arithmetic

Baker,

I do not quite understand this question.

On Sept. 21, 2012 we got a mail from John Pryce. Part of Draft 05.1 of the standard was attached to this mail. On Page 1 of John's mail I read:
What IS in it.
(a) Chapter/section structure with Ch 1 for introductory material Ch 2 for the set-based standard, Ch 3 for the Kaucher/modal standard, .......
So I conclude that it is already decided or at least desirable that Kaucher/modal arithmetic will be part of the standard. Motion 37 is a first step into this direction. It specifies how the basic arithmetic operations of Kaucher/modal arithmetic should or shall be defined.

Best wishes
Ulrich

Ulrich,

To be formally clear, is the actual motion to
include the operations as defined in the section
"The Basic Operations of Kaucher Arithmetic" as

(a) A required component of the standard?

(b) An recommended component which, if implemented,
     must follow the stated definitions?

(c) Something else?

Please clarify.

Baker

Dear P1788 members,

the attachment contains a motion on Kaucher arithmetic.

With best regards
