Sorry for the confusion.
Since the old mailing list is no longer in service, we will be creating a new one.

We already have a modal subgroup, see below, are you forming a new one or just extending an old one?

Dear P1788,
If you will be interested to participate in the new modal subgroup, please contact me offline.
Sincerely,
Nate

Subject: [IEEE P1788 modal subgroup]: Welcome
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the modal interval subgroup.
When I asked Baker to form this subgroup, we agreed its charge would be to
create a document, to be posted on the P1788 website, advocating a
relationship between modal arithmetic and the standard (namely, that it
should be included), and suggesting formal motions that can be processed, to
decide the issue. This includes the topic of both the inf-sup Kaucher
intervals and the midpoint radius form.
Not too long ago on the main reflector, Svetoslav offered to organize such a
proposal. The main purpose of this subgroup and forum, then, will be to help
him create that document.
Since there is a natural connection between algebraic rearrangement of
interval expressions and modal intervals, there are also people from the
Expression Rearrangement (ER) subgroup here. A secondary function of the
modal subgroup is therefore to lend some support to the ER subgroup by
providing any reference or expertise they may wish to draw on.
I would also just like to say I'm excited that modal intervals have thier
own subgroup! Thanks to Baker for allowing this group to be created. Let's
make the most of it!
Sincerely,
Nate Hayes
