Additional clarification Re: motions 39, 40, 41, and 42.

P-1788:

There may still be some confusion about what we are discussion
and upon what we will vote regarding specific motions. This may
be due to partially to the fact that portions of the draft text
other than those relevant to the actual motion were posted with
some of the motions, and also, one or more of the participants
in the discussion may have referred to incorrect motion numbers. Again:

1. Motion 39 -- presently under vote -- deals with relatively uncontroversial
wording of the introduction. I anticipate at most minor wording changes
      to result from the discussion.

2. Motion 40 -- presently under discussion -- deals ONLY with 1.7 and 1.8
of the standards text, that is, general requirements for bindings of the P-1788 standard
to programming environments and programming languages. I anticipate
at most minor wording changes to result from the discussion.

3. Motion 41 -- presently under discussion -- deals with clause 2. The only
controversial part of this clause is 2.5, decorations. However, 2.5 does
not specify the details of decorations, but only gives the motivation and
basic ideas underlying decorations, as an introduction to the actual
detailed specifications. The detailed specifications will occur in Clause 8.
I anticipate at most minor wording changes to result from the discussion.

4. Motion 42 -- presently under discussion -- deals with clause 8, where details
of the decoration system occur. It is in this clause I anticipate us
to be doing the most active work at present.

Best regards,

Baker
