This is certainly not correct. I mentionend in an earlier mail that the EDP was hardware supported in the 1980ies on processrs of the /370 architecture by IBM, Siemens, Hitachi, and others. And I know that today processor makers are at least thinking to realize it.My vote is YES on Motion 45.02. It is an improvement. But I would rather see CA out of the standard as it is too hardware oriented and until now, processor makers didn't show any interest in implementing it. IEEE P1788 should support these activities by requiring it.
