Motion 47
I dislike the style of discussion that has developed on Motion 47. If I
contributed to this I feel sorry and apologize.
Summary of my comments on motion 47:
As an adder tree speeds up multiplication, the EDP speeds up
accumulations at less costs and it eliminates cancellation. It
contributes that interval arithmetic can be developed as an
exception-free calculus what should be a primary goal of the standard.
I withdraw my vote on motion 47.
Reason: Reading the comments of the NO voters I feel that the number of
yes voters could be considerably enlarged if CA would be left out in the
formulation of the motion.
Since the number of No votes just reached 50% of the quorum the only
chance - as I see it - that would allow a new formulation of the motion
would be that it does not reach the quorum.
Best regards
Ulrich
