RE: atan2_sharp() -- a Motion?
Dear George, Many thanks for saying what, I think, many of us wanted to say at this point: having atan_sharp() sounded like a great idea, but a deep analysis shows that this issue is much more complex than we all originally thought, this issue is clearly not ready for standardization.
So let us drop it for now.
If someone comes up later on with a convincing idea, we can always add it later to the standard.

Friends,
My preference is not to include atan2_sharp(), in the interests of KISS. Nothing prevents an implementation from providing it, nor does anything prevent a programmer from developing exactly what is needed for an application at hand.
We do not need to finish all advances in interval arithmetic, but we DO need to finish this standard, or we have no standard.
