octets or octet?

Folk
Dmitry, who has done recent editing, uses the term "octets-encoding" (plural) rather than "octet-encoding" (singular). I left the plural, thinking it conveys "how one uses octets to encode things", while the singular might ambiguous lyconvey "how one encodes octets".
But "octet-encoding" is easier on the tongue and the eye IMO. And I don't think the analogous "bit-encoding" is considered ambiguous. So I suggest we use the singular.
