Re: Difficulties in implementation of textToInterval(s)
Perhaps I am being naive, but how about 1788.1 not having any text to
interval, or
any other construction of intervals "de novo" other than
from two legal numbers in the underlying host language? inf/sup (or
centered.)
One would have to see what could be done with infinities, signed zeros
or NaN
if they are supported. (Or if the language has rationals 0/0, 1/0,
-1/0, maybe +-0)
But that's not text-to-interval.
Does the current text-to-interval require determining
that sqrt(2)/2-sin(pi/4) is exactly zero?
I think I've expressed some
reservations about this in the past, but I am traveling now and have limited
internet access.
