Round table and AOB
Strawpolls in TGbn.
Marc: problematic to require positive outcome to run motion.
Jon: strawpolls gather information.
Alfred: Question is in ad-hoc, not TG meeting. If these are just motions the joint will be too busy. Limited feedback from discussion but large number of no votes.
Mark H: Not an issue of recorded vote. Issue is takes time for people to process. Run more motions!
Alfred: Run strawpoll to get feedback, but strawpoll fails to provide info without member list.
Mike M: Echo Jon, Mark H. Up to the person making the proposal to build consensus.
Carol: 5 people say not, but you can’t follow up because you don’t know who they are. Easier to follow up when everyone is in the room, but harder online.
Laurent: Earlier in 11be were looking at how people were voting. Then we made them anonymous. People want to see the result of the votes; it worked better when this was available.
Alfred: Hard to follow up after a 200 person vote.
Jon: Use the reflector more.
Action items
IEEE-SA myProject tool request: Add a calendar reminder, sent to SA ballot pool members, in the notification of SA ballot opening – Request initiated.
