The background of this was the deregulation report coming from the regulatory reform promotion council under the Japan Cabinet Office.

And the practical outcome of this activity is the report on deregulation for 2.4 GHz wireless LAN and Bluetooth:

The summary table is in p.64, clause 4.1.

Some of the regulation items and method for conformity test for 2.4 GHz wireless LAN and Bluetooth will be relaxed.

For your information.

On 27 March 2023, Japan MIC published a very detailed report (over 700 pages) about the European and American standards testing for wireless LAN.

In particular, you can refer to
a) Chapter 2 on the current status of wireless LAN;
b) Chapter 3 on the technical standards and tests in Japan, Europe and the United States based on the information including their interviews with researchers;
c) Chapter 4.1 for any identified differences in methods and examines the efficiency of certification through the use of test data based on European and American standards.
d) Chapter 4.2 for the review of test methods and the establishment of testing guidelines based on the survey they conducted on different European and US technical standards
e) Chapter 5 for a proposal that formulates guidelines for certification bodies and a manual for the certification system.
