IEEE 802.11 Voters,

With this email, the 802.11 Working Group is officially beginning WG Technical Letter Ballot 296 (LB296), asking the question:

"Should WG11 forward P802.11bn D2.0 to Standards Association (SA) Ballot?"

The WG motion for this WGLB was approved in the WG11 July 2026 closing plenary meeting, see https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/26/11-26-1141-04-0000-july-2026-working-group-motions.pptx.

This Letter Ballot opens today and will close 30 days later on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 23:59 Eastern Time USA (11:59pm).

All necessary documents are available in the instructions on the IEEE 802.11 web site at https://www.ieee802.org/11/LetterBallots/LB296bn/LB296_instructions.shtml.

Important:

• This is a WG ballot, and the ballot group (i.e., those that may vote) for this ballot is all IEEE 802.11 voters as of the start of this letter ballot series.
• Please see the list of voters in this ballot pool at https://www.ieee802.org/11/LetterBallots/LB296bn/LB296_instructions.shtml?ballot-group=../LB296bn/LB296_voters.csv.
• If you vote "Disapprove" on this ballot, it must be accompanied by comments for your vote to be valid.
• Not voting on a WG ballot series or sending an invalid vote can affect your voting privileges.
• The draft is password protected in accordance with IEEE 802 Policies and Procedures. To obtain the draft, use the members area  username and the password supplied to active members.
