[802.3_100GCU] IEEE P802.3bj/D3.0 initial Sponsor ballot results and January 2014 Meeting Announcement



Task Force Participants,

 

The IEEE P802.3bj Task Force will be meeting in Indian Wells, CA starting Tuesday, January 21 through Thursday, January 23. Registration and meeting details may be found using the following link.

If you have not already done so, you are strongly encouraged to register for the meeting and make your reservations as soon as possible. (December 31 is the deadline for best pricing registration).

 

The agenda for the meeting will be to respond to comments received during the initial Sponsor ballot on IEEE P802.3bj/D3.0.  The Sponsor ballot closed successfully on December 18 with 217 comments received. The results of the ballot are included below.

Requests for presentation time may be submitted to support a particular suggested remedy or proposed response to ballot comments. Presentations unrelated to ballot comments may be considered following the completion of comment resolution and if time permits. Presentations should not exceed 20 minutes in duration. Additional time may be granted if time is available and the extended duration is deemed appropriate by the Task Force chair.

 

Requests for presentation time shall be made to me via e-mail at adam.healey@xxxxxxx by January 10.  The presenter shall send a soft-copy of the presentation in PDF format to me via e-mail at adam.healey@xxxxxxx by January 14. Please ensure that requests for presentation time or submissions of presentation material are not accompanied by restrictive notices.  Any e-mail that includes restrictive notices will be refused and the presentation request or material will not be acknowledged.

I ask presenters to review their presentation material to verify that they have followed the guidelines.  As a point of emphasis, the 'Document Information' fields of the PDF file must be completed as follows to support the search tool used by the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Working Group web site.

Dear Colleagues,

 

The initial Sponsor ballot on the Amendment IEEE P802.3bj 100 Gb/s Operation Over Backplanes and Copper Cables closed successfully on 18th December 2013. The ballot exceeded the required 75% for consensus to approve the draft. The January 2014 IEEE P802.3bj Task Force interim meeting <http://www.ieee802.org/3/interims/index.html> will consider the 217 comments submitted and determine changes to the draft as appropriate. The availability of the comment database will be announced on the IEEE P802.3bj Task Force reflector.

 

The ballot statistics are:

                70           Approve

                10           Disapprove

                3              Abstain

                83           Ballots returned

 

                76.15%  Response Rate (>= 75% required)

                3.61%    Abstain Rate (< 30% required)

                87.5%    Approval Rate (>= 75% required)
