[802.3_B10K] Terminology Kickoff
All,
As discussed on this week's ad hoc call, there is a need for us to spend
some time on terminology related to the proposed PHY over DWDM network, .
Establishing a common reference point for various terms will enable
effective discussions in our group and the industry.
To that end - I am kicking off this thread to try and identify the terms
that we feel need defined related to this topic. This will also serve as
input into a potential liaison to the ITU-T, where we will request their
respective definitions of these terms.
Terms identified so far include the following (alphabetical order)
* Channel
* DWDM
* In-line amplification
* Lambda
* Lane
* Link
* PHY
* Point-to-point link
* Signal
