[802.3_EFMP] Proposed IEEE P802.3dw Managed Object CSD response

Dear IEEE 802.3 FMP Ethernet Interoperability Study Group participants,

During the 8 April 2026 IEEE 802.3 FMP Ethernet Interoperability Study Group meeting, I suggested updates to the draft IEEE P802.3dw Managed Object CSD response. On further review, it seems that IEEE 802.3 has been using two different Managed Object CSD responses over the years. 

One version of the Managed Object CSD response can be found in the IEEE P802.3cg <https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/18/ec-18-0079-00-ACSD-802-3cg.pdf> and IEEE P802.3dk <https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/22/ec-22-0268-00-ACSD-ieee-p802-3dk.pdf#page=3> CDSs. This is the version that was proposed for the draft IEEE P802.3dw Managed Object CSD response. I suggested updates because I believe we plan to use the YANG open-source project to update the YANG MIBs moving forward, although there will be roll-up revisions to IEEE Std 802.3.2 from time to time.

The other version of the Managed Object CSD responses can be found in the IEEE P802.3cs <https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/18/ec-18-0246-00-ACSD-p802-3cs.pdf#page=2> and IEEE P802.3dj <https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/22/ec-22-0256-00-ACSD-p802-3dj.pdf#page=2> CSDs. Since this is the version that has been used for recent CSDs such as IEEE P802.3dq, IEEE P802.3ds and IEEE P802.3dt, I believe that the draft IEEE P802.3dw Managed Object CSD response should be updated to use this version.

I, therefore, plan to propose changing the draft IEEE P802.3dw Managed Object CSD response to read 'The definition of protocol independent managed objects, to be included in Clause 30 of IEEE Std 802.3, will be part of this project.' at the 28 April 2026 IEEE 802.3 FMP Ethernet Interoperability Study Group meeting.
