[802.3_ISAAC] TSN Call Agenda Proposal 2026-09-21

Dear all!

I have started a discussion in the TSN WG on the inclusion (or not) of the PHY delay in calculating reference time-stamps (802.1AS - Fig. 8.2). My original trigger was the mismatch of clock-units in the math involved (sorry, my Physics background shows), but I found that 802.3 - Clause 90 links this strongly to the asymmetric Ethernet project 802.3dm, which is why I include their reflector here.

Richard Tse, also in CC, due to his retirement, will not participate in the Interim Session next week, but has provided some interesting input on the topic to a smaller group. In order to bring his input and potentially any output or questions from the Interim to a broad audience, I propose to dedicate the TSN Call on 2026-09-21 (https://1.ieee802.org/wg-calendar/) to this topic.

I'd be willing to prepare "the main presentation" summarizing, what I have seen and thought so far, including the upcoming Interim, and I would appreciate if Richard could find the time to join then to present his thoughts.

Looking forward to the discussions in Lisbon - I will only attend online(!) - and to hearing from you all on this meeting agenda proposal.

Best

Max
