Re: [802.3_NGMMF] IEEE P802.3cm Update from Waikoloa Interim Meeting

Nice job Robert, Jonathan and Mabud!  And the timing dovetails optimally with the start of the new study group for short-reach 100G wavelengths.

Congratulations,
Paul

Dear TF participants and interested onlookers,

We had a successful Task Force meeting in Hawaii, resolving our comment, re-affirming the CSD responses, and voting to request submission to RevCom.

In the 802.3 closing plenary on Thursday, our broader WG colleagues voted to submit D3.1 to Revcom with strong support (see below).  I appreciate the confidence that the WG showed in the work of our TF.

I have also been informed by Mr. Carlson that the 802 EC approved the request. It is my understanding that the RevCom meeting will occur in January, after which the Standards Board would vote in an email ballot later in the month. So I hope our draft will be approved by end of January. At this point, I believe that our work is complete, but stay tuned!
