[802.3_DWDM] Future IEEE P802.3ct and IEEE P802.3cw Task Force Meetings

Dear IEEE P802.3ct and IEEE P802.3cw Task Force Participants,

Last week the IEEE 802 March 2020 Plenary was cancelled, due to COVID-19.  See <http://ieee802.org/secmail/msg24244.html>.

Leadership at both the 802 and 802.3 level is working quickly to identify how groups can continue to progress their respective efforts.  Your patience as we work through this is greatly appreciated.

First, please note that an email was sent out at the end of the week by David Law, regarding a motion to suspend two requirements found in the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Working Group Operations Manual with respect to IEEE 802.3 electronic Study Group and Task Force (subgroup) meetings.  If you are an IEEE 802.3 voting member, please make sure you respond to the motion asap, which closes Monday 16th March 2020 23:59 AOE.  Pending the passing of this motion, decisions requiring motions would then be permissible at these meetings.

Interim Teleconference Meetings for IEEE P802.3ct and IEEE P802.3cw will be held during the normal Thursday 10am to noon, EDT time slot.  The announcement of each specific meeting and agenda is noted below.

·                                                                                                  March 19, 2020, 10am to noon, EDT:  IEEE P802.3ct – Consideration of comments submitted against IEEE P802.3ct D1.2

·                                                                                                  April 2, 2020, 10am to noon, EDT:   IEEE P802.3cw – Consideration of baseline proposals.  If no requests for presentations are received, time may be allocated for IEEE P802.3ct, to allow additional time for consideration of comments submitted against IEEE P802.3ct D1.2.

·                                                                                                  April 9, 2020, 10am to noon, EDT:   IEEE P802.3ct – Consideration of comments submitted against IEEE P802.3ct D1.2

Please note that All interim teleconference meeting participants should review the following documents prior to participation in an interim meeting teleconference:

    • IEEE SA patent policy
    • IEEE SA Copyright Policy
    • IEEE SA Participation Policy

All of these policies may be found at http://ieee802.org/3/policies.html.

In light of circumstances, I will be modifying the presentation request and submission deadlines.  Please see below.

  • For IEEE P802.3ct (Presentations in support of comments submitted against IEEE P802.3ct D1.2), presentation requests must be made the Friday before the meeting, and presentations submitted the Monday before the meeting.  Presentation time will be limited to 10 min.
  • For IEEE P802.3cw, request deadline is two Mondays before the meeting, and presentation submitted the Thursday before the meeting.  Presentation time will be limited to 15 min.
